“If we see a small boy, serving us tea in a restaurant and if we the people of INDIA are showing negligence by not reporting it, then we are also liable for negligence”
In this article, the concept of child labour would be introduced. As it is a concept of depth it will be discussed in a series of articles.
What is child labour?
- Child labour is any form of work that deprives children of their childhood, prevents them from attending school regularly, and affects them mentally, physically, socially, etc.
-India faces situations where children are forced to work under adverse conditions.
Despite laws against child labour, many children remain exploited as cheap labour as the authorities are unable to implement strict laws and actions to protect children.
-However, agriculture is the largest sector that employs children to contribute to the family income. Indian rural sectors employ 85 per cent of children due to various social factors that fail to meet their lifestyle.
Child labour:-but why?
-The leading causes of child labour in India are social inequality, lack of education, and poverty.
-Besides the unorganized agricultural sector, child labour exists in unorganized assembly, unorganized retail works, and unorganized trade sectors.
-Also, if child labour is promoted the % of jobs to the adults tends to decrease, which increases the unemployment rate,
There are many more aspects to be discussed, which can be discussed in parts.
I really hope that the victim gets education and not compensation, because if you give a child money, he would definitely not know how to use it. Really hope that government changes compensation to something useful😐. And I hope it happens soon without much delay...
